Gov. Gregoire�s statement on Hanjin�s renewed commitment to the Port of Seattle

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire today issued the following statement after Total Terminals International, LLC, a subsidiary of Hanjin Shipping Co. Ltd, announced that it has renewed its lease at the Port of Seattle through 2025:

�The Port of Seattle continues to strengthen its position as a premier global logistics hub. This lasting partnership with TTI and Hanjin, Korea�s largest container line, underscores Washington�s strategic location on the Pacific Rim.

�Our state has been proud to host the firm for more than 30 years. I was pleased to meet with Hanjin executives during our October trade mission to Korea. The successful extension of this contract is proof again that there is no substitute for face-to-face interactions. This relationship supports thousands of port jobs and the economic vitality of the whole region.�
