EWU rout over MSU garners buffalo steaks for Governor

OLYMPIA - Nov. 14, 2005 - Gov. Chris Gregoire won her friendly wager with Montana Gov. Brian Schweitzer on the outcome of the Nov. 12 Eastern Washington University game with Montana State in Cheney.

Gov. Gregoire anted a salmon she caught fishing at Westport to five buffalo steaks from Gov. Schweitzer�s own ranch. Ranked 21, Eastern Washington�s Eagles completed its Big Sky Conference schedule offing the 11th ranked Bobcats 35-14 at Woodward Field. The governors attended Saturday�s game to witness the action firsthand.

�Eastern Washington�s Eagles know that Washington State salmon outranks Montana buffalo any day of the week, and they proved it Saturday,� said Gov. Gregoire. The governor expects to collect the buffalo meat from Gov. Schweitzer any day now.
