Gov. Gregoire�s statement on decision by Sen. Lisa Brown to not seek reelection

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire today issued the following announcement on the decision by Sen. Lisa Brown to not seek reelection:

�Senator Lisa Brown has been a true champion and true fighter for the people of Washington. She�s also been a good friend. Most importantly, Senator Brown has represented the people and the needs of eastern Washington with great leadership. She has been a strong voice for her constituents and region. She will have many legacies, chief among them is the new medical school which will serve Spokane and nearby residents for generations to come. Today, Spokane is losing one of its most influential leaders. I�m proud to have served with her these many years.�
