Gov. Gregoires statement on Insitu expansion in SW Washington

For Immediate Release: December 14, 2011

OLYMPIA Gov. Chris Gregoire today issued the following statement after learning that the company, Insitu, has chosen Washington state to build a 70,000-square-foot production facility and a 30,000-square-foot engine testing building. Once those buildings are occupied, Bingen will be the sole location for all production operations:

I couldnt be more pleased that one of our aerospace supply companies has chosen to expand in Washington state, and locate its headquarters here. Ive visited Insitu a company that has provided jobs and opportunity in the small town of Bingen. The fact that this company plans to expand and create new jobs is fantastic news for the entire state of Washington, and a testament of our commitment to ensuring business success.

Insitus decision to grow here didnt come easy - Washington state certainly faced competition. I am well aware that the company had considered other locations in other states for this expansion. I commend the work of my staff and our states Department of Commerce, who worked tirelessly to ensure Insitu understood the advantages of doing business in Washington state, and ultimately chose to grow here.
