Gov. Gregoire remembers Senator Alex Deccio

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire today issued the following statement in memory of state Senator Alex Deccio, who died Tuesday evening:

�The passing of Senator Alex Deccio is a tragedy for his family and incredible loss for the state. As an elected official, he was a fierce advocate for his community and put the good of the people above party politics. My heart goes out to his family. I hope they can find solace in the thoughts and prayers of the countless Washingtonians whose lives Senator Deccio helped change for the better.�
