Gov. Gregoires statement on 787 delivery

For Immediate Release: September 26, 2011

OLYMPIA Gov. Chris Gregoire today issued the following statement on Boeings delivery of the first 787 Dreamliner to All Nippon Airways:

I couldn't be more pleased to attend today's celebration this is a proud day for both Boeing and the entire state of Washington. Today's delivery of the first 787 Dreamliner marks the beginning of a new chapter in the company's history, and continues to tell the world - Washington state is the home for the most innovative, fuel-efficient airplanes around the globe. From Everett to Spokane, Bremerton to Renton - there is no other state home to a full aerospace supply chain, supported by the most-highly trained aerospace workers.

I commend Boeing's workforce. It's because of their skill, dedication and hard-work that enabled Boeing to reach this incredible milestone. And I applaud Boeing management who worked tirelessly to reach this important day. I congratulate all involved - and look forward to more celebration when All Nippon Airways takes the 787 on its first commercial flight!
