Gov. Gregoire�s statement on 787 certification

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire today issued the following statement commending Boeing on receiving certification of the 787 Dreamliner:

�I congratulate Boeing and its workforce on reaching this incredible milestone. Certification of the 787 Dreamliner begins a new chapter in the company�s long history that will include one of the most innovative and fuel-efficient airplanes in the world. I look forward to Boeing completing its first delivery of the Dreamliner next month to Nippon Airways.

�This achievement is more evidence that Washington state is, and will remain the global center for aerospace. Home to more than 650 aerospace supply companies and 84,000 highly-trained aerospace workers � Washington state is at the forefront of aerospace production and innovation. I�m committed to doing everything I can to ensure it stays that way, and growing this important industry in our state.�
