For Immediate Release: April 26, 2011

OLYMPIA - Gov. Chris Gregoire issued the following statement, commending the students of Bridgeport High School who are finalists in a competition to have President Obama deliver this year's commencement address:

"The students of Bridgeport High School are beyond inspiring, they are taking charge of their future and showing the country the difference that a good education can make. With an incredible record of success in AP and college level courses, 82% of this years class are college bound. They know the value of education and hard work and they make it look fun! Im incredibly proud that they are in the running for the President to deliver the commencement address at their graduation. Ive voted online and encourage every Washingtonian to also vote and join these students in their incredible journey."
