Gregoire releases statement about workers� compensation proposal

Gov. Chris Gregoire released the following statement about her new proposal to reform workers� compensation:

�My goals for workers� compensation reform have been to help injured workers get healthy and back to work, reduce rates for businesses in this tough economy and bring sustainability to the system. The current system doesn�t serve injured workers and businesses as well as it should. Following the conversations I have had with lawmakers from both sides of the aisle, I have requested legislation that will comprehensively reform workers� compensation. This request, combined with the workers� compensation bill I have already signed, will save more than $1 billion over the next four years.�
