Gregoire releases statement about Seattle City Council�s viaduct vote

Gov. Chris Gregoire released the following statement in response to the Seattle City Council�s vote move forward with the viaduct replacement.

�I thank the Seattle City Council for today�s vote, their partnership and their leadership in this important effort. We have had a ten year partnership and today we continued that commitment to work together. We must replace the aging Alaskan Way Viaduct to protect public safety, create jobs and to move goods and services. Signs of progress are already visible, and, with our partners at the City of Seattle, King County and the Port of Seattle, we will provide the capacity necessary for today and for the future.�
