Gov. Gregoire�s statement on House transportation committee vote on viaduct

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire released the following statement today on House committee passage of bored tunnel viaduct legislation:

�As we all know, finding an Alaskan Way Viaduct replacement solution has been a difficult and daunting task. That is why today I couldn�t be more pleased that the House transportation committee has thoroughly reviewed and agrees that the bored tunnel viaduct replacement will best serve our region�s transportation needs. This solution provides a safe, cost-effective approach to viaduct replacement.

�I commend the House transportation committee leadership for reaching this agreement with bipartisan support. Working together we can advance our regional transportation system.�
