Gov. Gregoire�s statement on Senate transportation budget

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire released the following statement today on the Senate transportation budget passage:

�I congratulate Senate Majority Leader Lisa Brown and the Senate transportation committee on their diligence and persistence in getting this transportation budget passed. This critical budget will provide for investments in our transportation infrastructure and put people to work.

�I look forward to working collaboratively with the state Legislature toward a timely enactment of the final transportation budget. The state transportation budget allocations combined with the federal recovery efforts, will create thousands of jobs across Washington state.�
