Gov. Gregoire�s statement on House Democrats� �early action savings� bill

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire issued the following statement today on an early action savings proposal by the House Democrats:

�I commend the House leadership for quickly putting together its version of a budget savings plan. As with the Senate�s version, I plan to take a close look at the ideas included in the proposed package.

�The House and Senate versions offer different approaches to balancing the supplemental budget. I urge both sides to negotiate a common solution as soon as possible, and look forward to working with our legislators on both a supplemental budget as well as a budget for the 2009�11 biennium.�
