Gov. Gregoire's statement on Senate Democrats' 'belt-tightening' bill

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire issued the following statement today on the Senate Democrats� early budget reduction proposal:

�I applaud the Senate leadership for promptly putting together this early budget strategy. I am especially interested in their government reform plans, a concept that I have embraced and am developing proposals for as well.

�I plan to take a close look at these proposals, and look forward to working with the House and Senate on both a supplemental budget as well as a budget for the 2009�2011 biennium.�
