Gov. Gregoire statement on agreement between Boeing and Machinists' Union

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire today released the following statement on the machinists' union approval of a new contract with The Boeing Company:

"Today's ratification of a new contract by IAM members is great news for the men and women of The Boeing Company, Boeing's international customers and Washington state. The new contract allows for a long-term and productive partnership between Boeing and the IAM to continue to construct the best aircraft in the world.

"I look forward to continuing to help promote the production and sale of Boeing aircraft, from its world-class commercial fleet to the Air Force tanker."
