Gov. Gregoire�s statement on record agricultural production

OLYMPIA � Gov. Chris Gregoire issued the following statement on the significant increase in Washington�s agricultural production last year:

�Today�s announcement by the U.S. Department of Agriculture about Washington state�s record agricultural production is great news for the state. Agriculture is an integral part of our state�s history, culture, economy and exports.

�The record production is a testament to the hard work, innovation and strategic investments made by our farming and food processing families, businesses and communities. I have been and remain committed to support policies, funding and marketing opportunities that keep Washington�s agriculture industry profitable and productive.�
