EXECUTIVE ORDER  74-12

In accordance with the requirements of the Code of Federal Regulations contained within Title 45, Chapter 9, Section 903.50(c), it is necessary that the Washington State Council on Aging become an advisory body to the Governor pursuant to the state plan submitted to the federal government. Compliance with the provisions of federal laws or rules or regulations promulgated thereunder is a necessary condition to the receipt of federal funds by the state. The Governor is authorized pursuant to Chapter 43.06.110 RCW to comply with federal laws or rules or regulations to the extent necessary for the state to cooperate most fully with the federal government in the furtherance of programs which, in the judgment of the Governor, will enable families and individuals to acquire skills, knowledge, motivations and opportunities where needed to become economically self-sufficient.

NOW, THEREFORE, I, Daniel J. Evans, Governor of the State of Washington, by virtue of authority vested in me by law, do hereby designate the Washington State Council on Aging as an advisory body to the Governor with duties and responsibilities as provided in the Older Americans Act of 1965 as thereafter amended and the federal rules and regulations promulgated thereunder
