EXECUTIVE ORDER

1. Pursuant to the provisions of Sec 109 Title 324 U.S. Code Annotated, and Sec 38.08.090. Title 38, Revised Code of Washington, the Washington State Guard Reserve is established as a part of the organized militia of the State.

2. In times of peace, the Washington State Guard Reserve will function as an additiorma internal security force within the State for employment, in event of an emergency declared by the Governor, to augment the National Guard in protecting life and property; preserving order and public ssfety; and taking preventive action against threats to the internal security of the State.

3. In event of a war or national emergency declared by the President, the Washington State Guard Reserve will replace the National Guard when the latter is inducted into active Federal service and thereafter provide an adequately trained militia force for employment within the State as directed by the Governor. The Washington State Guard Reserve will revert to its peacetime status upon return of the National Guard to State control.

4. The Washington State Guard Reserve will be organized and administered in accordance with regulations promulgated in orders by The Adjutant General.
