Green building engineering from the Emerald City

Last month, China surpassed the US as the world’s largest energy consumer according to the International Energy Agency. China also surpassed the US in clean energy investments in 2009. Rushing is an engineering company that specializes in High Performance Building Design in Commercial Buildings. The NW has long been considered rich in its expertise in the field of Integrated Sustainable Building Design and the application of clean energy technologies as well as energy retrofitting in commercial buildings. Rushing has been fortunate to create a business that has tapped into this niche locally, regionally and internationally.

I will travel abroad with Governor Gregoire and her staff in order to expand our network within the Chinese Government and Developer Communities as well as continue to educate myself in the ways of Chinese business culture. It is my goal to understand China’s green city initiatives, priorities, timelines, and financial models. This also provides Washington an opportunity to demonstrate and offer our depth of knowledge, lessons learned, and experience in sustainability and integrated design practices. I will represent our industry with passion.
