This week Washington Department of Agriculture Director Dan Newhouse and I will be meeting with key Obama administration cabinet officials and policy makers in Washington, D.C. to discuss issues surrounding our state�s agriculture industry.

This reverse trade mission will not only help federal leaders to better understand the unique and diverse agriculture industry in Washington state, but it is expected that this sharing of information will help promote Washington�s agriculture products and develop comprehensive strategies to ensure Washington�s agriculture industry remains strong during this time of economic uncertainty.

I look forward to sharing the results when we return from this first trade mission with the Obama administration.
