Agency History: | In 1949, Albert LaPierre and Jack Peterson purchased an abandoned WWII airstrip in the southwest region of Snohomish County, then known as Alderwood Manor. The two began building homes along the strip and renamed their development "Mountlake Terrace" because both Mount Rainier and Lake Washington could be seen. The City of Mountlake Terrace was incorporated in 1954 and is located in Snohomish County. |
