These records include indexing and some images of marriage returns (1900-1910), marriage applications (1900-present), and marriage certificates (1911-present), recorded by the Chelan County Auditor from 1900 to the present. These records also include Community Property Agreements from 1974 to 1988 recorded by the Chelan County Auditor.

Copies of marriage returns, 1900-1910, and marriage certificates, 1911-2003 were digitized, indexed, and submitted to the Digital Archives by the Washington State Archives, Central Regional Branch from their Chelan County Auditor record holdings. Electronic copies of marriage applications, 1900-present, marriage certificates, 2004-present, and community property agreements, 1974 to 1988, were transferred directly from the Chelan County Auditor, who transfers records periodically

Agency History: Chelan County was formed from parts of Okanogan and Kittitas Counties in 1899. Chelan comes from a Native American word meaning "deep water." The county is located in the north central part of the state. The county seat is Wenatchee.
