Agency History: | In 1863, Marcus Oppenheimer and W.V. Brown homesteaded in the area, taking possession of several buildings abandoned by the British Boundary Commission. When the town was established on the site, they named it Marcus, after Oppenheimer, whose name was on the homestead papers. The Town of Marcus was incorporated in 1910 and is located in Stevens County. |
