Agency History: | In 1942, voters in King County established the King County Rural Library District in order to provide library services to people in “rural” areas with no easy access to city libraries. There is a five member board of trustees who serve for five year terms. Trustees are nominated by the King County Executive and confirmed by the County Council. The King County Library System has 48 branches and 1 traveling library. |
