Agency History: | Founded in the 1880s by Jorgen Eliason, a Norwegian immigrant, the city became an attractive place for Scandinavian immigrants to settle in the area. At the suggestion of resident, I.B. Moe in 1886, the residents agreed to name the city Paulsbo, after Moe's Norwegian hometown. By accident, officials misspelled the city's name as Poulsbo. The City of Poulsbo was incorporated in 1908 and is located in Kitsap County. |
