Notes from transcriber Suzanne Livingstone-Knedlik, June 12, 2011: “Suise Creek Cemetery is located 3 blocks east of the light at SE 256th St & 132nd Ave SE in Kent. Heading East on SE 256th St, cemetery is on the left side. This is considered a pioneer cemetery of some of the first settlers of this area. Only the descendants of those already buried here are allowed to be interred here.” “The cemetery is kept within a fenced area, but the gate is unlocked. There is parking for only one car. The cemetery is well maintained. Some of the older stones are starting to deteriorate and are not very legible any longer. The earliest burial was for 1888. It was established in 1903.” “I walked the cemetery and read all existing stones in July 2010 and found 374 legible stones.
