Notes from transcriber Suzanne Livingstone, June 12, 2011:
“The cemetery is located at the corner of 8th NE and Auburn Way N in Auburn WA, directly across the street from Auburn Sports and Marine.”
“Auburn Pioneer Cemetery is also known as Fawcett Cemetery, Slaughter Cemetery, and Auburn Japanese Cemetery.”
“This is a very small cemetery that is fenced in and very well kept. There is a small gate that is kept unlocked and there is plenty of parking available. The listings are the stones I was able to transcribe. There are at least another 50+ stones that are all in Japanese and appear to contain only the last name with no first name or dates. The earliest burial found was 1866.”
