|Agency History:||Community Transit serves the public transportation needs of the citizens of Snohomish County. The orgainzation began service on October 4, 1976, after the voters of seven local communities agreed to form their own local transit agency. Since then, it expanded to include every city in the county except Everett as part of Community Transit's Public Transportation Benefit Area (PTBA). The Board of Directors is the governing body for the agency. The Board's duties include establishing policy and legislative direction, defining the organization's mission and goals, and representing the agency's position to the public and the Legislature.|
