These records include an index and images to Declaration of Intention, Petitions, Certificates of Arrival, and Depositions filed with the Thurston County Superior Court between 1906 and 1974, volumes 1, 4-24, and a Journal Docket listing Declarations of Intention dating from 1849 to 1853. The index will give information about the applicant and what documents are included in the files.

It is named in honor of Samuel R. Thurston who was Oregon Territory’s first delegate to Congress, famous for his speech to Congress supporting the admission of California to the Union in 1849.
