Directions to Cemetery Franklin Catholic Cemetery is located just a few miles east of the town of Black Diamond on the outskirts of what use to be the town of Franklin. From the intersection of Highway 169 and Lawson Road in Black Diamond, head 3.7 miles east down Lawson Road. Lawson Road will become the SE Green River Gorge Road just past the outskirts of Black Diamond. The cemetery is off the left side of the road a few yards in a wooded area. It is visible from the main road if you’re watching for it. Just past the cemetery will be a signal light sign. If you get that far then you’ll need to turn around as you’ve just passed it. There is no sign across the cemetery entrance.
Transcription Notes The cemetery is kept within a fenced area, but the gate is unlocked. The cemetery is very well maintained and only has one overturned stone that was noticeable. When entering the cemetery, almost all of the stones will be on the right half of the cemetery. The earliest burial was 1906. I walked the cemetery and read all existing stones in January 2007.
