Introduction:
This index displays the case number, name of the deceased, date of death and notes filed with the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s coroner reports from May 2, 1975 to August 31, 1975 and January 1, 1988 to June 30, 1997. These records are partially restricted. The complete record containing autopsy and toxicology reports and photographs are restricted to next of kin. Permission to view the records is achieved by contacting the Spokane County Medical Examiner’s office. The one page coroner report is open to the public.

The Spokane County Medical Examiner is located in Spokane, WA. Some of their responsibilities include determining the cause and manner of death, performing investigations at the scene of death, identifying the dead using scientific forensic methods, providing expert legal testimony in criminal and civil matters, preparing and planning for mass casualty incidents, insuring the integrity of the personal property of decedents, providing for disposition of unclaimed, indigent citizens, according to state law, and signing death certificate in all cases of unnatural death, and many cases of natural death.
