A PROCLAMATION BY THE GOVERNOR:
WHEREAS, intelligence reports indicate that riot and disorder is imminent in the vicinities of Birch Bay, Long Beach, Castle Rock, and Grays Harbor areas and a body of persons will be formed and will act together as a force with intent to offer violence to persons and property and by force to resist the laws of this State or the United States; and
WHEREAS, the Washington State Patrol and local authorities will be in immediate need of assistance of any or all State Government agencies to alleviate the forthcoming emergency and return normal control to proper authorities;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, Daniel J. Evans, Governor of the State of Washington, by virtue of authority in me vested by Title 38, Revised Code of Washington, do hereby direct the Adjutant General of the State of Washington to place on duty in the critical areas such troops and equipment of the Washington National Guard as may be necessary to aid and assist the Washington State Patrol and local authorities in the protection of life and property.
