Learn about the documentation of birth records in Washington and what information is found in a birth register or birth return by selecting the tab that says "About this Collection” here The Washington Territorial Legislature created Walla Walla County on April 25, 1854 and is named after a Native American tribe and it means “running water.” The county is located in the southeastern part of the state and is bounded on the north by the Snake River and Oregon on the south.
