For the best search results, search by parents’ last name. Search by either the full last name or the first letter of the last name. Please note mother’s last name will be her maiden name. Learn about the documentation of birth records in Washington and what information is found in a birth register or birth return by selecting the tab that says "About this Collection” here Lewis County was formed by the Provisional Government in 1845 and included any land north of the Columbia River and west of the Cowlitz River. Today, it is located in the southwestern park of the state and stretches from the summit of the Cascade Mountains on the east to Pacific County on the west. The county is named after the explorer, Meriwether Lewis. All records are in English. These records are open for research.
