These records include both index and images of birth returns and affidavits of births filed with the Snohomish County Auditor between 1891 and 1907.
For the best search results, search by parents’ names. Search by either last name, first and last name, or just the first letter of the last name. Please note mother’s last name will be her maiden name. Learn about the documentation of birth records in Washington and what information is found in a birth register or birth return by selecting the tab that says "About this Collection” here The Washington Territorial Legislature created Snohomish County on January 14, 1861 and was part of Island County. It was named after the Native American word Snohomish meaning “union” or “coming together.” The county stretches from Puget Sound on the west to the crest of the Cascade Mountains on the east.
