These records include Washington Charter School Commission's meeting minutes and agenda packets for meetings from April 4, 2013 to September 17, 2015. In almost every case, the agenda packets include the minutes for the previous meeting.

Minutes are the official record of the proceedings of the Commission Board. Minutes may include date, commissioners present, summary of official reports, budget approvals and other commission business. The agenda packets include documents that support business planned for that meeting. The records in this collection are indexed by date.

Notes These records were downloaded from the Charter School Commission's website by D Bahn in November, 2015 at the request of R. Wood, the State Records Manager. The Charter School Commission closed, and the archives could not get copies of the records directly from the Commission.
Agency History: The Washington State Charter School Commission was established in April, 2013 as a result of the Charter Schools Act (Initiative Measure No. 1240, approved Nov 6, 2012). Governed by a nine-member board, the commission leads the charter school applications process, manages the authorization work, and provides support services to Washington State charter schools. In 2015, the Washington State Supreme Court ruled that the charter school law was unconstitutional.
