These records include marriage applications and certificates recorded by the Franklin County Auditor from 1889 to the present.
Copies of marriage certificates, 1910-1930, were digitized, indexed, and submitted to the Digital Archives by the Washington State Archives, Central Region Branch from their Franklin County Auditor records holdings. Electronic copies of marriage applications and certificates, 1999-present, and index records for 1889-1998, were transferred directly to the Washington State Archives, Digital Archives from the Franklin County Auditor, who transfers recently recorded documents monthly. The Washington Territorial Legislature created Franklin County on November 28, 1883. It was named after the American patriot, Benjamin Franklin. Formerly part of Whitman County, it is situated in the southeast part of the state. All records are in English. These records are open for research. The Franklin County Marriage records at the Central Regional Branch were scanned by the staff of the Central Regional Branch, and transcribed and proofread by Brigid Clift, Meagan Nemra and Lindsey Tucker, Washington State Archives. |
