| Introduction |
These records include 952 plat maps created by various surveyors between 1892 and 1971. Oyster plats were made for submission with applications to purchase oyster land. Plats may include name of applicant(s), date, application number, and location of property.
To search these plats, locate the township and range of the area you are investigating (you can view a map of Washington townships and ranges here). Enter this into the keyword search box. For example, if searching for Township 18 North, Range 2 West, enter “18N 2W”. Plats are also searchable by last name of applicant (if named), or county. All records are in English.
