Agency History: | Cashmere is located in Chelan County approximately 12 miles northwest of Wenatchee and is considered the geographic center of the State. The town was incorporated in 1904 and adheres to a Mayor-Council form of government. Originally called “Mission” citizens changed the name to Cashmere with the arrival of the Great Northern Railroad. They chose the name as a reference to the mountainous region of Kashmir in northwest India. |
