These records include the board minutes of the Volunteer Rescue Hose Company #1 from August 24, 1884 through July 28, 1893.
Minutes are the official record of the proceedings of the Board. Minutes may include date, board members present, summary of official reports from various departments, budget approvals and other committee business. The records in this collection are indexed by date. The city established a professional fire department in response to the 1889 Spokane fire. The volunteer hose company disbanded in 1893 by decree of the Spokane City Council. All records are in English. These records are open for research.
