These records include the board minutes of the Volunteer Rescue Hose Company #1 from August 24, 1884 through July 28, 1893.

The city established a professional fire department in response to the 1889 Spokane fire. The volunteer hose company disbanded in 1893 by decree of the Spokane City Council.
