| Introduction |
These records include indexes of ordinances (1998-2012) passed by various governing bodies in Clark County and recorded by the Clark County Auditor. The Clark County Auditor transfers recently recorded documents periodically.
For the best search results, search by government entity, ordinance number, or it is possible to search by year. Ordinances in this collection may have been repealed, superseded, amended, or otherwise had their legal effects altered by subsequent actions of the various governing bodies. For the current code, please refer to the governing body’s website. Learn about ordinance records in Washington and what could be included in those records by selecting the tab that says "About this Collection” here Clark County began as the District of Vancouver on July 27, 1844. In 1845, the name changed to Vancouver County and included all of present day Washington and some of the surrounding areas. On September 3, 1849 the Oregon Territorial Legislature modified the borders and changed its name to Clarke County in honor of William Clark of the Lewis and Clark Expedition.
